Sharing Some Writings and Thoughts on Peace
"Those who make a peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent revolution inevitable."
- rather wise and prophetic words from a great leader, John F Kennedy
"Peace is, by all agreement,
what everybody wants, at this moment.
But violence - the weakest power
Still rules the world to each small corner.
Don't sit around -
Go out and do!
The world wants peace, For me and you."
by South African, James Van Minnen
"I watched it creep over the mountains, its warmth
spreading, its light growing stronger each minute.
Soon it will be up and another day will dawn on
South Africa. This day will be no ordinary day, for it
will be the day of peace. Tranquility had won another
war for mankind, utterly destroying pain and violence.
For this is the day we have been waiting for. This day
bringing new hope for all. The day stretches on and
finally it has to end. The sun will sink back behind
the mountains bringing another day."

and so peace came to South Africa out of a troubled, divided and bloody past...
so why not the WORLD?
- Craig Lock
"When you can see no light at the end of the tunnel, light your own candle and let your light illuminate the world, like the radiance from a window at
midnight."
Let the light of your BEING shine brightly; so revealing Who You Really Are. Be a Bringer of the Light, which emanates from our soul, God, our Creator, the Source, the Essence of Life (and Ground of our very Being). Therefore, it can do more than illuminate your own path.YOUR spirit will help makes the lives of others easier by illuminating others paths. For this light is our humanity, the spirit of God, truth, wisdom, beauty and especially love...and it lies within each one of us. Through your actions and your Being, let your light, YOUR spirit truly shine brightly on the world, like the radiance emitted by a candle at midnight."
- Craig Lock (adapted from Neale Donald Walsh in
'Conversations with God Book 3').
"Let us build bridges rather than barriers, openness rather than walls. Let us look at distant horizons together in a spirit of acceptance, helpfulness, co-operation and peace."
"Become the person you are CAPABLE of being ... and ALL the person God, Our Creator intended us to become."
- Craig Lock
"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light...
and where there is sadness, joy.
I shall pass through this world but once.
Any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show to any human being,
let me do it now.
Let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again."
- anon
"Love is the only force that can erase the difference between people or bridge the chasms of bitterness. In a changing world, it is a constant. It is the security of the home. It is a beacon of hope in a world of distress."

- Wayne R. Bills, MA
Love is a power in us more powerful than bullets.
Love is ultimate STRENGTH and has Unlimited Power.
"I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. That is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than
evil triumphant."
- Martin Luther King, Jr
"I believe often we greatly underestimate our potential and resources. We have it all within to do anything; but when we feel weak and don't think we have anything left to give, then all we need to do is ask in prayer. You will receive wisdom , strength, imagination and creativity you never knew you possessed from without, from a Higher Power, your Creator...
and then nothing is impossible to you and God."
- Craig Lock
YOU can do something to make a better world with WISE ACTION + GREAT BELIEF in GOOD, the power of what we call GOD, the Ground of our very Being, The Ultimate Source of wisdom, truth, beauty, hope, life and love.

P.S:
"The man (or woman) who loves greatly can be a most powerful person in the world."
- or words to that effect from Emmet Fox
"There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires."
- Nelson Mandela
"Those who make a peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent revolution inevitable."
- rather wise and prophetic words from a great leader, John F Kennedy
The immense problems of this world cannot be solved at the same level of thinking that created them. I think it was Albert Einstein who said something like that. Words of wisdom!
Fist look at the CAUSES of conflicts. There IS a SPIRITUAL SOLUTION to any "seeming impossible" problem. "The spiritual is stronger than any material force, thoughts rule the world."
- the great and inspirational American philosopher, Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire." Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
So powerful, those words!
"Ignite the light in your soul,
then you will spread light in people.
Plant beauty in yourself
and harmony will blossom in your home.

Teens, Surfers, Donuts and God
Teens, Surfers, Donuts and God
By Sheree Rainbolt-Kren
(c) 2005
Today, we went to the mall as my son and his surfer friend
Sam needed Ticket Master for some upcoming concert tickets.
While there, I purchased a CD by a group called Mercy Me.
It's Christian Rock. I don't see myself as a *typical*
Christian, but I love the music and the messages. Then, it
was off to the beach to drop off the boys. Lily and her
little friend, Ella, were along too.
I put the CD in right away, before Dylan could pop in the
millionth playing of Maroon 5 or Simple Plan. I jacked up
the volume and made no apologies for all the Jesus music
blasting. Dylan was begging me to turn it off as he was a
bit embarrassed in front of his friend. But, as he was
begging, his long haired friend spoke up from the back seat
and asked me, "Who's Jesus?" I could almost hear Dylan
thinking, "OMG no- not that!." The music continued. Before,
I could answer, Sam, the surfer, asked another question.
"Who's God?".
Odd to be in this glorious moment with a car full of kids.
He was very serious. Then, before I could answer the third
question, he jumped in again with, "I mean I know what the
churches and the bible says God is, but what do you think
God is?" He was asking me from the sincerest place within
him. I took a short pause, but knew I didn't have much time
before he would have questions 5 and 6 locked and loaded.
And we were almost to the beach.
Then a miracle happened.
We came upon the draw bridge. It was just pulling up. I had
at least 5 minutes to answer.
Could there be a bigger miracle than this, I thought.
Dylan figured this out before I did, and he sunk into his
seat and threw his towel over his head. I glanced back at
Sam just to make sure he hadn't lost interest yet.
I mean a full minute had passed since he inquired. He was
all ears. I straightened out my back, drew a deep breath and
talked just fast enough to get my simple thoughts out
without causing his spontaneous ascension. ;-)
Me: Who do you think God is Sam? What is your opinion
before I give you mine.
Sam: I don't think he's some man in heaven. I don't think
he is a person at all.
Me: What do you think he is then?
Sam: I don't know. What do you think?
Me: Well, ok....for now... this is what I think. I think
*God*, is the highest point of perfect love
Consciousness..... which, when expressed....or made visible
in any way, is the most pure and beautiful light imaginable.
This light is infinite in it's identity, encompassing all
things everywhere, and it's what makes up the One Mind we
all share as the truth of what we are.
Sam: Huh?
Me: [too far too fast] Ok. I believe Source, or God, is
energy. Pure Love Energy.
Sam: Oh yeah, that is what I think to. But, I believe in
evolution and stuff.
Me: How do you feel about that belief?
Sam: Good I guess. I believe it.
Me: If you feel good in your heart about your beliefs,
then they are wonderful beliefs. If you feel something is
off, then it's ok to question your beliefs and search for
answers that make you feel better. It's all about feeling
really good about what you believe. I fully support
whatever you believe as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. The
bird in the tree and the worm on the ground will have two
different perspectives about the guy with the lawnmower.
Your truth is your truth.
Sam: I don't get it. Do you believe in evolution?
Me: Yeah I do. Everything is always evolving. But, I do
believe in the *Super* Consciousness that expanded in
thought and naturally created extensions of thought, not
unlike itself. Do you know what I mean by consciousness?
Sam: Yeah. But, do you call it God? Do I have to call it
God?
Me: It doesn't matter what you call it. You can call it
whatever makes you feel good. It's no one's business what
you call it. You don't have to call it anything. In fact, it
is likely indescribale in human terms.
Sam: Can I just believe in myself?
Me: Of course. I think that believing in yourself is the
same thing as believing in your Source, or your God. If you
believe in yourself, you will come to know God. Or whatever
you wanna call your Source.
Sam: Yeah, that's what I believe too. But, my mom doesn't
believe that.
Me: Well, it's ok if you have your own beliefs Sam. She can
have hers and you can have yours. But, it's worth learning
about how your Mom feels about things. Listen to her, ask
questions, express your own beliefs if you like, and go from
there. You will keep asking these great questions and your
answer will come when you are ready to learn more. You will
always evolve, and learn more.
[drawbridge almost done]
Sam: That's cool.
Me: Yep. It is Sam. Remember that whatever you believe
about anything will be your life experience and your reality
for as long as you believe it. You get to decide these
matters. Others will tell you, as I am, what they believe,
but that don't make it truth for you. You will absolutely
know the truth for you when you hear it.
Sam: I will? Are ya sure? [laughs]
Me: On that I am sure Sam.
Sam: Is there a hell?
Me: Would perfect Love create hell?
Sam: No- I guess not.
Me: Hell is a state of mind. Just like Heaven. You can
choose each day whether to live in hell or heaven. And
whatever you choose, again, will be what your life looks and
feels like. The more people there are that believe in Hell -
the more hell there will be. There's more to this - but I
think I have already overloaded you.
Dylan: Can we turn into Dunkin Donuts?
Sam: I believe that Iraq is probably hell.
Me: No Dylan. Then, it is for you Sam. See what I mean?
But, you can change your mind about that at any time, and
see something else if you choose to.
Sam: Like what? It's like hell.
Me: Well, you could see God. I mean, you could decide to
decide to see deeper meaning.
Sam: How?
Me: That's a good question.
[green light and we're on our way- but I am driving real
slow]
Sam: I don't want to think about that.
Dylan: Mom- everyone is passing us.
Mom: Well, I am in no hurry.
Dylan: You just wanna talk about God.
Me: Then don't Sam. Tha'ts fine. But, what if you could
think about it and see something more meaningful than war
and death? What if you could change your idea of it all?
What is the best thought you could have about Iraq if I
would pay you a hundred dollars to have it?
Sam: You'd give me a hundred dollars to think of something
good about Iraq?
Dylan: Dude- yer such a loser.
Me: No Sam. I am just asking you to imagine it.
Sam: Oh.... well, I can don't even think I could think of
something good.
Me: Ok. If it makes you feel good to think of Iraq of
hell - then that's most important. You have to ask your
heart those questions. But, do you think that you could have
a different thought? You don't have to. We're just talking
here.
Sam: I get it. It's like if I believe Iraq is hell, then
Iraq is hell.
Me: Everything you see and experience is a direct result of
how you feel about everything you see and experience. That
may not make any sense [laugh]
Dylan: omg
Sam: No, I see. I know what you mean. That is so cool.
Me: Good.
Sam: And, I'm gonna always believe in myself. That's what
God feels like to me.
Me: As long as you're happy with that, keep it. You're on
the right track. But, remember you can always seek for more
answers. Ask yourself to show you the way.
Dylan: Just drop us off here Mom. [they get out and I
drive away].
Me: cool.

Is America Losing Its Religion?
Is America Losing Its Religion?

Has America known its finest hour? Are we losing our religion
and sanity as well? What is wrong with our society anyway? These
are baffling questions that are frequently being asked by more
and more people, even the media.
>From environmental pollution to spiritual pollution, from
artificial food to artificial joy – these are the side effects of
the pursuit of materialism (a by-product of the American Dream,
as we know it). Today, everything is fair game in the pursuit of
pleasure and avoidance of pain and personal responsibility, not
to mention the absence of morality and a wholesome values system.
Is America at risk of reaching a point of no return, or worse
becoming a third world nation? According to universal laws, it's
all a simple matter of cause and effect or as it's been said "as
you sow so shall you reap." What we are witnessing is the
powerful consequences of these laws from which no one is exempt.
We live in a time characterized by a modern battle between good
and evil which can be defined as limited awareness (the norm) and
integrity and enlightenment (which are the exception). It's a
time when chaos and anarchy are the order of the day. While
technologically we may live in a space age, morally we are still
living in the stone age as reflected in our social ills, the
failure of our systems and institutions and the growing conflicts
both domestically and internationally.
One of the greatest human tragedies is not the lack of resources
and/or control over our own circumstances, but rather the lack of
awareness. Whether we realize it or not, the current climate of
insanity, including terrorism, is a reflection of a moral and
spiritual crisis. It's indicative of our denial of our own
spiritual roots and the perception that we are separated, which
eventually leads to conflicts and even wars.
An engineer can look at the foundation of a building under
construction and tell you its eventual height and even fate of a
structure. Similarly, a society is as strong and free as the
pillars of the spirit upon which it's built. Spiritual roots are
the foundation upon which total prosperity and peace and harmony
are built. When we reject concepts of spirituality, integrity
and morality – we also deny the greatest part of our existence
(our spirit) which enables us to prosper and experience a fuller
life of meaning, purpose, real joy, fulfillment and peace (inner
and outer). By so doing, we also deny our access to the ultimate
real and positive power, the ever-present force (God) that builds
and doesn't destroy. That's because we are spiritual beings
experiencing the human experience and not the other way around.
As such we were designed and meant to live a life of meaning and
purpose through spirit and integrity beyond the narrow boundaries
of the material world.
In a materialistic-driven society where vanity, not virtue, is
worshipped, all the things we used to hold dear like, religion,
marriage, family, loyalty, faithfulness, hard work, and being of
service to the community are no longer sacred. Instead
consumerism, in the spirit of "He with the most toys lives,"
rather then "He with the most joys lives," is promoted and driven
by profit and greed to the point that even a holiday like
Christmas is now more of a marketing concept and devoid of any
real meaning.
The media, especially Hollywood, is also at fault. Rather than
celebrating excellence and the human spirit, by promoting
positive concepts such as personal responsibility, making a
difference, tolerance, kindness, giving and sensitivity to the
human condition, the media produces shows and movies that
celebrate human weakness, vanity and perversion. These
productions promote social ills such as anti-social behavior,
excessive self-indulgence and entitlement, instant gratification,
greed, corruption, compromised integrity and obsession with
external, shallow values, including the obsession with fame,
fortune, and youth. This has led to a significant increase in
substance abuse, senseless violence in our schools, and increased
teen suicide.
You can blame it all on the pursuit of the American Dream, as we
know it, which is an illusion based on a materialistic values
system characterized by corruption, greed, compromised integrity
and the erosion of morality whereby the love of power overcomes
the power of love. It certainly does not represent the true
spirit of America, which was based on perspiration, innovation,
risk and reward and where the focus used to be on a strong work
ethic, high integrity, family and community. All of which
created a nation of producers with an enviable prosperity that
created real joy and fulfillment.
It's obvious that America has gone off track and is in desperate
need for healing and revival if we are to maintain a free and
thriving nation, not to mention our leadership in the
international arena. The solution to restoring our spirits and
our economy is through increased awareness and by reconnecting
with our spiritual roots. Awareness can be used as a useful tool
to better understand the unity of life, our place in the universe
and ourselves. By understanding ourselves better, we come to
understand God as the source and the destination.
In other words, everything we do must be driven by spirit and
spirit-filled. That's because we are spiritual beings
experiencing the human experience and not the other way around.
As such we were meant and designed to live a life of meaning and
purpose by recognizing the unity of life and living in harmony
with the universal laws that are characterized by integrity and
the honoring of all living things. In this way we can actually
produce real hope, real joy and fulfillment, real peace (both
inner and outer), ultimately leading to total prosperity in the
true spirit of the American Dream.
